Product features : Chateau Cos-Labory - 5eme Cru Classé 2022 — Saint-Estèphe

Breeding
14 to 18 months in French oak barrels, with a high proportion of new wood (often 100%)
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with subtle brick-tinged reflections at the rim, suggesting measured maturity.
On the nose
Open and expressive bouquet led by dark fruits—cassis and blackberry—with red plum undertones. Forest floor, tobacco leaf, and the distinctive cedarwood note characteristic of Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the mouth
Forthright attack with immediate appeal. Persistent freshness carries the palate through ripe fruit and liquorice notes to a medium-long, refined finish. Well-balanced structure without excess.
M. Francois
Cos-Labory consistently offers genuine quality within the Cru Classé hierarchy. A gentleman's wine—less flamboyant than its celebrated neighbour, yet exemplifying classical Saint-Estèphe virtues: robustness, depth, and longevity. Pairs admirably with roasted game birds or milk-fed lamb.

CHATEAU COS-LABORY

Classified as a 5th Grand Cru in 1855, Château Cos-Labory covers 18 hectares of deep quaternary gravels and clays on the celebrated Cos hillside in Saint-Estèphe, Gironde. Founded in 1789 and held by the Audoy family from 1922 to 2023, the château entered a new chapter when Michel Reybier acquired it, reuniting the historic Cos vineyard as it stood at the time of the imperial classification. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the integrity of its terroir, the rigour of its HVE-certified viticulture, and the classic Bordeaux character of its Cabernet Sauvignon-led reds. A classified growth to follow closely as it embarks on this new era.
